Great tool for readers December 18, 2006 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I was looking and looking for something that would hold open my book while I was working out on the treadmill in the mornings at the gym -- ran across this little FlipKlip and it really does the trick well. Easy to use, holds the book open so I can read -- only problem that it hasn't solved is how to underline what I'm reading while on the treadmill...let me know when you run across a product that does that! Seriously, great product, inexpensive and does the job!
tip: remove plastic caps on front pegs November 7, 2007 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
A number of people have mentioned that pages can be hard to turn sometimes. Just remove the plastic caps on the front pegs. The bare plastic still holds down the pages, and its much easier to turn pages that way.
Additionally, if you place the back pegs just inside the cover (rather than outside the cover), the device doesnt fall off the book if you happen to release the spring momentarily to turn pages or to flip rapidly thru pages. It remains balanced on top of the book because having the back pegs inside the cover holds the flip klip in place even when its 'unsprung'.
To echo the other positive reviews here, this is a lovely little gadget. Hard to improve on it in terms of a portable, slim, easy device that effectively holds a book open.
Great Little Gadget! January 9, 2007 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
This worked out perfectly with my book and the treadmill. It keeps the book flat and a simple flip up on the clip and you can easily turn the page without halting your workout. The service was very fast also, it shipped the first business day after I placed the order.
Note: I did find this to be a bit smaller and more lightweight than I expected. It worked very well for well broken in hardbacks and the larger trade paperbacks that lay flat easily, but I have had one new hardback where it was a bit cumbersome (but do-able) and I had one fat paperback that the clip would not hold on to at all. Perhaps the inventor can come up with a heavier duty model for those books? No matter, I have plenty of books that will work smoothly, and I am thrilled to be able to read whilst on the cardio -- it goes SO MUCH faster with a good book.
Great Item! October 20, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love this little item! It is lightweight and really holds books well including drawing books and song books. It is a minor inconvenience to have to turn the pages by flipping the arms out and back but no big deal, considering how much pleasure it gives you! It holds the book open so you can read without losing your page and without using your hands to hold it open. Paperbacks work great with this and we all know how tiring it can get to hold a paperback open for long periods of time. Goes anywhere and holds a book together for moving around by putting it on the side of the book like a clamp. Would be great for someone handicapped and can't open a book too. I think students would like it for homework. I love it for cookbooks as well! I couldn't be happier with this one.
Exactly what I wanted January 11, 2007 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
I use it for my treadmill, and just keep it waiting for me in the cup holder. Holds my books perfectly, where I can then rest them on a "lip" on the treadmill where I can read hands free. I've used an "average" size book, and also a large, heavy book, not quite "coffee table" size, and it worked just as well.
The only negative, per se, is having to pop up the one side when it's time to turn the page. The page will easily slip under the other side without having to pop it open. A little difficult when walking on the treadmill, but it does't have anything to do with the product itself. Also, a great price.
